![]() ![]() It presumably came about as a response to the drama caused when it was revealed ( by this very writer, actually) that FIFA 13 on the Wii was identical to FIFA 12 with only the kits and squad line-ups changed. To clarify, Legacy Edition is the cursed subtitle EA’s been adding to ‘dead’ updates of its games ever since FIFA 14. And with that, we’ve stopped kidding ourselves and started kicking ourselves instead: this was always going to happen, and we all should have seen it coming. Rather than put any effort in whatsoever to regain interest in the Switch version by trying to bring it in line with other systems, EA has simply slapped a ‘Legacy Edition’ sticker on the title, taken its ball and gone home. On the contrary: it’s done absolutely nothing. By this point we’d hoped for a ‘third time lucky’ scenario: after all, with the other systems’ Journey story mode ending in FIFA 19, and all-new modes announced for FIFA 20, we’d hoped that EA would have taken the initiative and built on the Switch’s ever-growing popularity by ensuring the Nintendo version of FIFA 20 offered similar to its Microsoft and Sony cousins. That said, though, the Switch version was still miles behind the other systems when it came to full parity, with entire modes missing and the much-loved Ultimate Team still lacking a number of key features.Īnd so here we are now with FIFA 20. Then, when FIFA 19 followed a year later, progress had clearly been made: some elements from the Xbox One and PS4 version like the new shooting system, the Champions League licensing and the brilliant new friendly ‘house rules’ had made it to the Switch, too. It was still a great game at its core, after all. Given that the game was being handled by another studio in Bucharest – and given that one of the game’s producers gave the (rather fishy) excuse that they didn’t want to overwhelm Switch players with every option at once – we gave it the benefit of the doubt. Even if I am to get Fifa 21 I'm literally not buying any fifa again before trying it out thoroughly in a shop. When EA released FIFA 18 on the Switch, it was missing a number of modes and features. ![]() I still really hope they fix stuff in updates or atleast make fifa 21 playable. No wonder so many people call this the worst fifa ever. I totally regret spending so much money on this game. Even if it has, there is a huge difference between making the game harder and glitching our gameplay/players. Idk if legendary has been made harder on this game. I always play legendary and never had any problems like this on previous games. Once I had the ball on upside of the pitch but a foul occured on the downside, by a player I wasn't even controlling.Īnd new set pieces controls are just so weird and stupid. Wanna talk about fouls? The opponent magically gets fouls out of nowhere. For a fact I still haven't had a clean sheet after playing like 15 matches, and nearly all of my goals conceded were because of stupid glitches. Even with fking ultra defensive, all the defenders come way too up the pitch allowing space for the opponent. When you're leading a match, the game considers it a formality to score back. When you try to clear the ball the player gives it to the opponent. ![]() Defenders just run around like idiots giving so much space for the opponent to shoot. what the actual f***īut the worst of all is the defending. The worst by far is when I passed upwards but instead it got passed downwards. Sometimes pass goes in another direction. They get magically intercepted or the receiving player sometimes drifts away from the ball and gives it away to opponent. Half of the time even simple passes don't even reach the player. ![]() But still shooting is decent and manageable especially when compared to these major other problems. Sometimes shooting shoots straight at the keeper. Literally the worst gameplay mechanics ever. ![]()
